Sharing my thoughts about the new project "Oritura"

🤔What if I challenge something new and the result comes out really bad?

↑Have you ever had those scary thoughts?

If so, I’d like to tell you

Don’t worry, you are NOT alone in this.

Where I lived and the job I did wasn’t stable in my 20s,

and I always had this anxiety causing a tight throat.

Up until today fro 7 years, I’ve captured many special moments of Japanese couples. 📸

But why now,

why did I decide to open a new plan for International couples and foreigners?

It's quite nerve-wracking to get involved in a market you've never been involved in.

Everything is new😭

but today, I’d like to share what made me want to challange something new.

A while ago in my 20s, I used to be a local coordinator for weddings/photographer

in Cebu, Philippines.

In a country which I was not familiar with,

working with cultural and language barriers was pretty tough.

Even when arranging a single wedding

At first, there were tons of troubles and obstacles in front of me.

“That's not what I signed up for!”

“Is it possible to satisfy our customer’s request with the local flowers?”

“Is it possible for a non-Japanese makeup artist to know which makeup&hairset will suit me?💦"

I felt the difficulty of arranging weddings in foreign cultures during those five years.

Covid situation made me fly home✈️, and I decided to become a freelance photographer two and a half years ago.

At that time, I met my lovely husband from Wisconsin, and we got married about a year ago.

Thankfully, through my own marriage,

I've started to think about International marriage

and foreign couples living in japan,

which I was not familiar with before.

Hearing stories of couples who decided to get married with only a half year left in Japan, and foreign couples who loves Japan and enjoys the culture traveling through Japan together was one of the reasons,

But mostly, standing next to my husband,

who enjoys Japanese food, culture…everything about Japan everyday gave me a new perspective.

When I visited his hometown Wisconsin this summer,

His friends & family welcomed me with a warm kind heart.

That made me realize that I really want to get involved with international couples, and support them to have a great experience.

It’s getting way too long,

but I wanted you to know why I came up with this new plan,

and what makes me want to put my efforts in🔥

This new project has just started moving, and I’m still in the researching process.

Next year, I’d like to put everything together and make it a great start.
